FORTitude for Teens Mental Wellness Series

In this six-week Middle school workshop series teens will develop a deeper self-awareness and understanding of their emotions so they can implement personalized coping skills for managing the challenges that impact their health and mental well-being. 

Sessions will be held on Tuesdays, 10/24 - 12/12 at 6:00 PM 

 Please note that we will be skipping the weeks of October 31st and November 21st due to Halloween and Thanksgiving.

The Teen Workshop for Middle School Students is for ages 11-14 (grades 6-8).


Themes covered in this series are:

Session 1: Creating Community

Session 2: Exploring Identity

Session 3: Finding Acceptance

Session 4: Defining Healthy Relationships

Session 5: Improving Communication 

Session 6: Learning To Thrive


Workshops start at 6:00 and will end at 7:30 pm. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to check-in.

Program Goals:

Teens will develop/enhance the following skills:

  • Learn a new skill, tool, or strategy to use if they feel stressed, anxious, or sad or to help them feel happier and more hopeful.
  • Learn techniques to feel more in control of their body and emotions.
  • Learn techniques to feel more calm and relaxed.
  • How to work on accepting themselves and others.
  • How to recognize healthy relationships in their lives.
  • Figure out who they are and establish goals, priorities, and their place in the world.

No teen will be turned away for financial reasons. Please contact Jennifer Montes (jennifermontes@ryanbartelfoundation.org) if financial assistance is needed.

Limited Space:
There is limited availability due to the nature of the workshops and space so please be sure your teen plans to attend all six workshops in the series.
 
Participation and Benefits:
The workshops are highly interactive and require the participation and consideration of all the teens.
 
Confidentiality and Limitations:
Your child’s privacy is important to us. We remind all participants that personal stories shared should remain with the group but there is always a potential risk that confidentiality could be compromised.
 
Safety Protocols:
If mental health concerns arise, the Ryan Bartel Foundation Staff will contact a parent or guardian. At least two adults will facilitate the workshops.
